High Performing Leaders: Leadership skills that matter

2-day Workshop

In today’s complex environments, leaders are under pressure not only to deliver results but also to inspire, engage, and sustain their teams through change and challenge. Technical expertise is no longer enough. What differentiates truly effective leaders are non-technical skills: the ability to listen, influence, regulate emotions, build trust, and create a culture where people feel safe to perform at their best.

FidesOak®’s High Performing Leaders - Leadership skills that matter workshop is designed to equip leaders with these essential capabilities. Over two intensive days, participants will develop the mindset and skills that underpin high performance in themselves and others.

The challenges leaders face

Many organisations tell us their leaders are technically strong but lack the human-centred skills to lead effectively. The common challenges include:

  • Leaders defaulting to command and control rather than empowering their teams.
  • A lack of trust and psychological safety that prevents people from speaking up or taking accountability.
  • Leaders who struggle to adapt their style, creating disengagement and inconsistency.
  • Emotional triggers and stress responses that damage relationships and decision making.
  • Teams that avoid accountability, slipping into blame or inaction when results are missed.

These challenges limit organisational performance and erode culture. This workshop has been created to meet them directly.

What leaders will experience

On Day 1, participants:

  • Examine the power of a growth mindset and its link to adaptability and innovation.
  • Explore their own emotional intelligence using Daniel Goleman’s four-quadrant model, recognising strengths and areas to develop.
  • Learn strategies for self-regulation and avoiding “emotional hijacking.”
  • Reflect on their personal values and how these influence authentic leadership and decision making.

On Day 2, the focus turns to the leader’s impact on others:

  • Practising the six leadership styles and understanding when to apply each for maximum influence and resonance.
  • Building and sustaining psychological safety so that teams feel confident to contribute, innovate, and take risks without fear.
  • Exploring the Trust Equation and how credibility, reliability, and empathy combine to inspire followership.
  • Applying The Oz Principle steps to accountability - See it, Own it, Solve it, Do it -  to embed a culture of responsibility rather than blame.

The outcomes for organisations

By the end of this workshop, leaders will:

  • Recognise their personal triggers and manage them to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Understand and flex their leadership style to fit the situation and the needs of their people.
  • Build trust through authenticity, values, and consistent behaviour.
  • Create the conditions for psychological safety and accountability in their teams.
  • Strengthen collaboration, innovation, and resilience across the organisation.

This is not abstract theory. Every activity is grounded in workplace realities, with tools and frameworks that leaders can immediately put into practice.

At FidesOak®, we believe that high performing cultures start with high performing leaders. Our approach combines rigorous learning design with a deep understanding of organisational life. We develop leaders who are not only capable of delivering results but who do so by unlocking the potential of those around them.

This two-day workshop is an investment in the future of your organisation, building leaders who are self-aware, emotionally intelligent, and skilled in creating environments where people thrive.
